FAQs
1. What is hot yoga?
Hot yoga is a style of yoga practiced in a heated room, typically around 95–105°F (35–40°C). The heat helps loosen muscles, deepen stretches, and promote detoxification through sweat.
2. What should I bring to class?
Mats, blocks, and straps are provided for you. For your first class, we’ll also provide a large hot yoga towel to cover your mat and help prevent slipping. After that, you’ll need to bring your own towel or hire one at the studio. You’re always welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer. And don’t forget—water is essential! Staying hydrated before, during, and after class is key.
3. What should I wear?
Wear breathable workout clothes. Most people opt for fitted tank tops, t-shirts and shorts or leggings. Avoid heavy or loose clothing—less is more in the heat!
4. Can beginners do hot yoga?
Absolutely! Our classes are designed for all levels. We encourage you to take breaks when needed and go at your own pace. Everyone was new once!
5. How hot does the room get?
The temperature usually ranges between 95–105°F (35–40°C), in our Saku Hot Flow with humidity added to intensify the sweat and detox effects. It sounds intense, but your body adjusts over time. Our other classes have a more comfortable heat, enough to allow the muscles to stretch beautifully and for your body to adjust.
6. How often should I practice hot yoga?
It depends on your goals. For general wellness, 2–3 times a week is great. For transformation and faster progress, 4–5 times a week can be amazing—as long as you listen to your body. We do not allow more than 2 Saku Hot classes per day.
7. What are the benefits of hot yoga?
Improved flexibility
Increased strength and stamina
Detoxification through sweating
Mental clarity and stress relief
Enhanced cardiovascular conditioning
8. Is it safe to do hot yoga?
Yes, for most people. However, if you have health conditions like heart issues, high blood pressure, consult your doctor first and always listen to your body. We do not allow pregnant women to practice due to the increased risks or those under 16.
9. What if I get dizzy or lightheaded during class?
It’s totally normal when starting out. If you feel unwell, lie down on your mat, breathe deeply, and rejoin when ready. Hydration before and after class is super important! We sell electrolytes in the studio to support this.
10. Is there an age limit?
Yes—our classes are open to anyone aged 16 and over. Anyone under 18 will need a parent or guardian to sign a waiver before attending.
11. Are there changing areas and showers available?
We have designated areas for changing, but please note that showers are not available at the studio. We recommend bringing a small towel if you'd like to freshen up after class.
